ROWLEY – Helen Louise Noe was born July 24, 1936, at Mount Morris, Ill., the daughter of Lloyd Franklin and Vinna Viola Long Diehl. She attended Mount Morris schools and graduated with the High School class of 1954.
Helen was united in marriage to Roger Noe on Feb. 11, 1956, at Garrison. To this union, six children were born: Sandra Jean, Michael Dean, Robert Allan, Nancy Ann, Laurie Lynn, and Susan Kay. Helen worked for a time at the Garrison Creamery, but then stayed home to raise their children. In 1968, moved to their farm near Rowley. She was a former Brownie Leader and in later years, they enjoyed camping with Pete's Fleas Camping Club. She also liked to garden and sew.
At the age of 79 years, Helen Noe entered into her eternal rest on Sunday, Sept. 27, at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, Russel Diehl; and a grandson, Sean Nelson.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Roger, of Rowley; six children: Sandra (Ken) Johnson of Independence, Michael (Julie) Noe of Rowley, Robert (Pam) Noe of Independence, Nancy (John) Nelson of Cedar Rapids, Laurie (Gary) Bearbower of Independence, and Susan Wilson of Independence; sixteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at the First United Methodist Church in Independence with Rev. Scott Meador officiating. Music will be provided by Mary Schubich, and Larry and Janice Kabele. Casketbearers will be: Joshua Nelson, Matt Noe, Eric Bearbower, Bryan Bearbower, Keith Bearbower, Andrew Johnson, Jeremy Johnson DVM, Clayton Noe, and Chad Noe. Honorary bearers will be: Jeff Peyton, David Gissel, David Hardy, Rob Opfer, and John Wright. Interment will be in Wilson Cemetery, east of Independence.
Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop, Iowa, and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, at the First United Methodist Church in Independence.
