INDEPENDENCE - Janice I. Weber, 65, of rural Independence, died on Tuesday, June 7, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, following a short illness.
She was born on Jan. 9, 1946, in West Union, the daughter of L. Ralph and Doris Elaine (Poor) Vargason. She graduated from high school in Maynard, with the Class of 1965. On Oct. 17, 1975, she and Thomas Edward Weber were married in Independence. Mrs. Weber was a care giver for her family. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Independence.
Mrs. Weber is survived by her husband of 35 years, Tom, and one son, Chris Weber of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Nancy Ferrel.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, June 10, at St. John's Catholic Church in Independence. Burial was at the church cemetery.
