BRANDON – Jaron L. Sweet, 74 years old, of Brandon, died on Friday, April 5, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 1, 1938, in Houston, Minn., the son of Nick and Myrtle (Lee) Sweet. He graduated from high school in Houston, Minn. He served in the U.S. Army. On Jan. 28, 1961, he and the former Ruth Carol Runingen were married in West Salem, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death in 1994. Mr. Sweet worked at John Deere in Waterloo, on the transmission assembly line for 30 years. He retired in 1993.
Mr. Sweet is survived by two daughters, Susan (Tyler) Albert and Stacy (Chris) Nabholz, both of Brandon, five granddaughters; and two sisters, Nona (Gordon) Larson of Galesville, Wisc., and Diane (Murrel) Prey of La Crescent, Minn.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Gregory Sweet.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, at Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee in rural LaPorte City, with Pastor Jenna Couch officiating. Burial will be in Brandon Cemetery in Brandon.
