Obituary

INDEPENDENCE – Jean V. Seemann, 90 years old, of Independence, died on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at ABCM Rehabilitation Center of Independence – West Campus, in Independence. She was born on January 1, 1927, in Fairfax, the daughter of Ernst and Marie (Froelich) Andersen.
On December 3, 1950, she and Earl Elmer Seemann were married at the Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee in rural LaPorte City. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Mrs. Seemann is survived by a son, Allan (Janice) Seemann of Independence; two daughters: Marlys (Robert) Bitterman of Cedar Rapids, and Nancy (Mike) Shaffer of Winthrop; and a sister, Christine Bierschenk of Vinton.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Ruth Huck and Hedwig Dillon; and one brother, Ernest Andersen.
Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence with Rev. Greg DeBoer officiating. Burial was in Rowley Cemetery in Rowley.
