Karla J. Joblinske Cornwell, 50, of Independence, died on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence following a sudden illness. She was born on November 7, 1959, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Earldean Erwin and Elizabeth Clara (Schares) Joblinske.
Cornwell is survived by two daughters: Kayla Cornwell of Independence, and Kassie Cornwell of Tokyo, Japan; one son, Bryan Cornwell of Independence, and one granddaughter, Natalie Casey. She is also survived by her mother, Betty Joblinske of Jesup, and four brothers: Jeff (Kim) Joblinske and Pat (Sandy) Joblinske, and Mike (Shawn) Joblinske, all of Jesup, and Kevin (Tori) Joblinske of Independence. She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Independence. Rev. Donald Plamondon will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Athanasius Cemetery in Jesup. Friends may call for visitation after 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, at the White Funeral Home in Independence, Iowa, where a Parish Rosary begins at 3:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service begins at 7:00 p.m.
