ROLLA, Mo. - Kenneth B. Loy, of Rolla, passed away at his home on Friday, Dec. 18, at the age of 65.
He was born in Ashland, Mo. Jan. 2, 1944 to A. B. Loy and Evelyn (Mitchell) Loy.
On Jan. 6, 2006 he married Karen (Wilson) McIlwain, who survives.
Ken worked as a claims representative for the State Farm Insurance Co. for over 35 years.
He will be sadly missed by his surviving family which includes his wife, Karen McIlwain, of the home; three sons: Scott Loy and wife Julie, of Bloomington, Ill., Chris Loy and wife Lisa, also of Bloomington, and Eric Loy and wife P.J., of Dubuque; a stepson, Jeffrey McIlwain, of West Plains, Mo; a stepdaughter, Susie McIlwain, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; his former wife, Mary Haley, of Booth Bay Harbor, Maine; a brother, Willis Loy and wife Diane, of Kirkwood, Mo; one sister, Linda Neenan and husband Mike, of Kansas City, Mo; eight grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other extended family members and many dear friends.
A celebration of Ken's life will be held on his upcoming birth date, Jan. 2, 2010 from 2-5 p.m. at the Oak Meadow Country Club just east of Rolla.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Russell House or Phelps Regional Hospice.
