MARION – Larry L. Walters, 69, of Marion, passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wis. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. The service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A private family burial will be at the Strawberry Point Cemetery.
Survivors include his daughters, Lori Wilson of Marengo, Lacie Walters of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Shayl and Caden Wilson; brothers, Glen and Jerry Walters; sisters, Janet Ruzek and Nancy Kurt; and his cat Neko.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and ex-wife, Narda.
Larry was born Sept. 25, 1946 in Oelwein to Glen and Myra Walters. He was employed at LeFebure and John Deere in Waterloo until retiring in 2004. Larry was a United States Army Veteran and a member of UAW for over 30 years. He was an avid NASCAR and Iowa Hawkeye fan. Larry was a mechanic at heart and always enjoyed tinkering with vehicles. He especially loved riding his motorcycle.
