Independence - Lavonne A. Dudley, 91, of Independence, died Saturday at the West Village Care Center in Independence following a short illness. She was born on March 2, 1918, in Rowley, the daughter of William Ray and Mary Ann (Buehler) Bearbower. She attended school in the Buchanan County country schools. On January 16, 1940, she and Leland Dewayne Dudley were married in Clinton. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2003.
Dudley is survived by four daughters: Shirley Anthes of Central City; Janet (Mike) Dibble of Lewisville, Texas, and Mary Beier and Lois Stout, both of Independence; one son, Gene (Julie) Dudley of Aurora, and one daughter-in-law, Becky Hackett of Prairie du Chien, Wis. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and two brothers: Harold (Sharon) Bearbower and William (Melba) Bearbower, both of Rowley.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Earl Bearbower and Merle Bearbower; one son, Bill Dudley; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the White Funeral Home in Independence with Rev. Bill Black officiating. Burial will be in the Troy Mills Cemetery in Troy Mills.
