Lucille M. (Weber) Krempges (1925 - 2012)

INDEPENDENCE– Lucille M. Krempges, 87, of Independence, died Monday afternoon, May 14, at the Buchanan County Long Term Care, Independence.
Lucille was born on April 2, 1925, near Independence, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Schmitt) Weber. She attended rural school and helped out on the family farm. On May 29, 1945 Lucille was united in marriage to Francis F. Krempges at St. Jospeh's Catholic Church in Independence. The couple farmed north of Independence until retiring and moving to Independence in 1987. Lucille enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, quilting and crafting and strawberries.
She was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church, and the St. John's Rosary Society, and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Lucille is survived by three daughters; Sister Mary Ann (The sisters of Mercy West and Mid West) Krempges, RSM, Detroit, Mich., Carol (Steve) Krempges-Kunz, Clive, Lynn (Randy) Spies, Audubon and two sons, Richard (Nancy) Krempges, Independence, and Dean (Bridget) Krempges, Independence, fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francis on May 1, 2000. A sister, Anna Krempges and a brother, Joseph Weber.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at the St. John's Catholic Church, Independence, with burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Independence. Visitation was from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory where a rosary was recited at 3 p.m., and a parish vigil service was held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
