APPLE VALLEY, Minn. – Margaret E. Jamieson, 88, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017.
Margaret E. Jamieson was born March 10, 1928 to Wilbur and Maude Rowell in St. Paul, Minn. She was the oldest child of four boys and two girls.
She grew up in the rural Zumbrota, Minn., area and graduated from high school in 1946. She graduated from Psychiatric Nursing and attended Miltonvale Wesleyan College.
Margaret married Richard Jamieson on June 25, 1949 in Waterloo, Iowa. They pastored in Wesleyan Churches for 47 years in Dennison, La Porte City, Fayette, Oskaloosa, Des Moines, and Sioux City, Iowa; and Anoka, Burnsville, Zumbrota and Albert Lea, Minn. Margaret was also a musician and seamstress, designing many items for missions and local churches. She taught Sunday school for 40 years and was active in the music of each church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Jamieson; parents, Wilbur and Maude Rowell; three brothers: John Rowell, Charles Rowell, and Joseph Rowell; and one granddaughter, Rebecca Jamieson.
She is survived by two sisters: Anna (Carl) Jackson and Mary (Eldon) Jamieson; and one brother, Walt (Nancy) Rowell. She is also survived by five sons and their wives: Larry (Cindy) of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Darrell (Chris) of Sasche, Texas, Arlan (Deb) of Wichita, Kans., Randall (Penny) of Montgomery, Ala., and Richard (Sandra) of Apple Valley, Minn.; 12 grandchildren: Ryan (Sarah) Jamieson, Shara (Michael) Douthey, Michael (Lizz) Jamieson, Hanna Jamieson, Daniel Jamieson, Chelsea (Sam) Pederson, Abbey (Christian) Ichter, Aubrey (Jordan) Monson, Angela Jamieson, Lacey Jamieson, Teresa Jamieson, Sarah Jamieson; Great grandchildren: Jake Jamieson, Everett Monson, "Baby' Monson, Annie Pederson, Daniel Pederson, Josiah Pederson, Jacob Douthey, Madison Douthey, Cooper Douthey, Brielle Jamieson, Alyssa Jamieson, Nathan Jamieson and Harris Jamieson.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 3 at White Funeral Home Chapel, 14560 Pennock Ave., Apple Valley. Visitation will continue at Noon Saturday, March 4 at New Beginnings Wesleyan Church, 205 Hammond Ave., Waterloo, Iowa, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa.
