Margaret M. (Kayser) McNamara (1911 - 2012)

INDEPENDENCE– Margaret M. McNamara, 100, of Independence, died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 23, at the West Village Care Center, Independence.
Margaret was born on Dec. 12, 1911 in Independence, the daughter of Anthony G. and Katharine A. (Fischels) Kayser. She attended the St. Joseph's Catholic Schools in Independence. On April 26, 1933 she was married to William E. McNamara. The couple farmed in the Rowley area prior to their retirement.
She is survived by three children; Jane Ann (Gary) West, Independence, Robert (Patricia) McNamara, Jupiter, Fla., and James (Mary Jo Brennan) McNamara, Dubuque, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William McNamara in 2002, a son; Jerry McNamara, eight brothers; Victor, Bill, Peter, Lawrence, Albert, Joe, Arthur, and Leonard Kayser, and three sisters; Cecelia Becker, Sr. Jeanne 'D Arc Kayser, and Loretta Nie.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church, Independence, with Rev. Don Plamondon officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, where a parish vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday.
