INDEPENDENCE – Marian T. Hare, 86 years old of Independence, died Sunday, Jan. 1, at the Long Term Care unit of the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence. She was born Oct. 30, 1925, in Independence, the daughter of Ross Newton Fairchild and Pearl (Lowrey) Fairchild. On Jan. 29, 1944, she was united in marriage to Frank Junior "Bud" Hare at the Presbyterian parsonage in Independence. Marian was a supervisor at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, where she worked for 24 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Independence.
Marian is survived by her husband, Bud of Independence; one daughter, Sharon (Bud) Conrad of Independence; one son, Larry (Pat) Hare of Lewis, Colo.; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and one sister, Viva Hansen of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dwayne Fairchild and one sister, Mary Eileen Moore.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 5, at the White Funeral Home, Independence, with Rev. Scott Meador officiating. Lillian Cue will be the organist. Casket Bearers will be Marv Hayward, Greg Corkery, Terry Tekippe, Brandon Behan, Zach Behan and Trevor Behan. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.
