Marvin Lavern Schulz (1932 - 2012)


JESUP – Marvin Lavern Schulz, 80 years old of Jesup, died Friday, Oct. 19, at his home after a sudden illness. He was born on March 12, 1932, in Waterloo, the son of Vernon Schulz and Dorothy (Kelley) Schulz. Marvin served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict. On Feb. 4, 1956, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Joyce Jensen at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, Waterloo.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn; three daughters, Cindy (Ralph) Howard of Helotes, Texas; Tamara (Lynn) Miller of Jesup; and Deborah (Jon) Wendel of Johnston; and one brother, Marlyn Schulz of Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Pierce.
Funeral services were be 11 a.m. – Monday, Oct. 22, at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup with Pastor Dawn Pederson officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories, Waterloo, with Military Rites conducted by Pump-Scheer American Legion Post 342 of Jesup.
Visitation was held Sunday, Oct. 21 at White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
