INDEPENDENCE– Maxine I. Miller, 84, of rural Independence died Sunday, March 10, at her home near Independence.
Maxine was born on July 27, 1928, in Sioux Falls, S.D. the daughter of Harold J. and Irene V. (Heasley) Brewer. She attended the Whittier Schools in Sioux Falls. On May 13, 1950 she was married to Clifford P. Miller in Sioux Falls. The couple lived in Sioux Falls where Maxine was employed with Nabisco Cracker Company prior to the family moving to the Independence area in 1966.
She is survived by her husband Clifford Miller, Independence; a son, Rodney Miller, Tucson, Ariz., two grandchildren, a brother LeRoy Brewer of Fla., and four sisters; Betty Campbell, Mable Holbroiok, and Luetta Freekus all of Sioux Falls, and Lorraine Breen of Del Rapids, S.D.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15 at the Rowley First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lisa Ross Thedens officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. till services.
The Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory of Independence, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.
