INDEPENDENCE – Maybelle I. Hare, 95, of Wauwatosa, Wis., and formerly of Independence, Iowa died Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the home of her daughter Mary Viehland in Wauwatosa, Wis.
Maybelle was born on May 15, 1918, in Independence, the daughter of John H. and Adeline E. (Michael) Ludden. She graduated from St. John's Catholic High School in Independence and was united in marriage to Carl F. Hare on November 14, 1940. Maybelle was employed with Family Pharmacy in Independence from 1972 thru 1979. Following her retirement the couple lived in Mission, Texas, and following the death of her Husband Carl in 2001, Maybelle moved to Springfield, Mo. for four years prior to moving to Wauwatosa, Wis.
Maybelle enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, crafting and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters Judy (Earl) Dibble, Springfield, Mo., and Mary (Denny) Viehland, Wauwatosa, Wis., six grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl, a grandson Joshua Viehland, and a brother Garland Ludden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at St. John's Catholic Church, Independence, with Rev. Don Plamondon officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence. A St. John's Parish Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
