Independence - Pahl A. Wiese, 89, of Independence, died on Friday, March 19, 2010, at West Village Care Center in Independence following a long illness. He was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Stanwood, the son of Arnold and Elsie Carie (Pahl) Wiese. He graduated from high school in Independence with the Class of 1938. On November 22, 1942, he and the former Naomi Ruth Postel were married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 2004.
Wiese is survived by one son, Richard (Marcia) Wiese of Rowley; one daughter, Susan (Doug) Schmidgall of Prescott, Ariz.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Sandra Wiese.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery in Independence.
