Patricia "Patty" (Gillpatrick) Gingras (1942 - 2012)

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – Patricia "Patty" Gingras passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at the age of 70 in the Premier Convalescent Home in Palm Springs, Calif. She is survived by her husband Norman Gingras; her father, Kenneth W. Gillpatrick of Oelwein; a brother Kenneth (Cheryl) Gillpatrick of Loveland, Colo.; two sisters Jean Gillpatrick of Independence and Linda Austad of Fremont, Calif. She is also survived by one niece and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna (Coons, Gillpatrick) Cone.
Patty, daughter of Donna and Kenneth Gillpatrick, was born in Waterloo on August 15, 1942. Raised in Independence, she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1960. She lived in Independence until 1968 when she moved to San Jose, Calif. While in San Jose she worked at Santa Clara Valley Medical Hospital and at Food Villa Deli before finally becoming a housewife to her husband Norman. In recent years she lived in Palm Springs, Calif.
Patty loved her family, traveling, playing tennis and golf, reading and visiting the sights of Palm Springs.
Patty was cremated. A private memorial service was held and her ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean. A memorial will be held by her family at a future date yet to be determined.
