HAZLETON – Richard "Rick" A. Gibson, 64, of Hazleton, died suddenly at home on Saturday evening, Nov. 16.
Memorial Services: 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein; Officiating: Rev. Connie Markle; Visitation: from 10 a.m. to service time on Thursday.
A Memorial fund has been established in his name.

Richard Alfred Gibson was born on April 25, 1949 at Santa Fe, N.M., the son of Robert and Margret Jane (Cline) Gibson. He graduated from Oelwein Community High School at Oelwein, in 1968 and from Gates Business College in Waterloo. Rick formerly worked at Lambert Chevrolet in Oelwein, Bentley Chevrolet in Fairbank and also at Finnegan's Big A Auto Parts and O'Reilly's Auto Parts both in Independence. He enjoyed fishing and stock car racing.
Richard is survived by two sisters: Becky White of Oelwein and Mary (Robert) Taylor of Hazleton; three brothers: William Gibson of Hazleton, Robert (Dianne) Gibson of Hazleton, and Howard (Margaret) Gibson of North Buena Vista; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Jack.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew (Chad Gibson) and a great nephew (Riley MacInnis).
