Vivian Maxine (Hamilton) Cashen (1920 - 2012)


AURORA – Vivian Maxine Cashen was born May 12, 1920, at the family farm near Aurora, the daughter of Ross and Alexia Stevenson Hamilton.
On March 4, 1946, she was united in marriage to Richard Cashen at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lamont. To this union were born four children: Rick, Ron, Jean, and Robert. The family lived both in Aurora and Winthrop. After Richard died in 2006, she lived in San Bernardino, California, with her son, Robert and his family.
At the age of 92 years, Vivian entered into her eternal rest on Wednesday, July 18, at West-Village Care Center in Independence.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Richard and her sister, Hazel Abernathy. Survivors include her three sons: Rick (Deb) Cashen of Lincoln, Neb.; Ron (Janice) Cashen and Robert (Marissa) Cashen, both of Independence; her daughter, Jean Garibay of Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 22 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m.. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 23, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Winthrop, by Fr. Don Plamondon. Burial will be at St. Albert's Cemetery near Lamont.
