SECURITY-WIDEFIELD, Colo. – William "Bill" or "Bud" Leslie Kimmerle succumbed to cancer and passed away Friday, August 3 at the age of 63. He was born in Independence on April 11, 1949 to James Donald and Marjorie Lousie (Gericke) Kimmerle.A 1967 graduate of the Independence High School, Bill worked for Shaw's Plumbing and Heating when he lived in Independence. Thirty years ago he moved to Colorado. First to Woodland Park, Colo., then to Security-Widefield, Colo., a community southeast of Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by four children: Robert, Kenneth, Shelly and Jeremy; five brothers: James of Cedar Rapids, Gary (Sharon) of Marceline, Mo., Tom (Leona) of Independence, Richard (Becky) of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Charles (Maureen) of Independence; one sister: Sandra (Gerry Simpson) of Independence; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves several good friends and caretakers: Tim and Janice Gregory and Lou Kowalefski.
A memorial service is scheduled for Noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12 at the VFW post 2440, located at 128 3rd Ave NE, Independence.
