MECHANICSBURG - Mary Catherine Tullis, 92, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Vancrest of Urbana.
She was born May 20, 1925 in Urbana, Ohio and was a 1943 graduate of Salem High School. She retired after many years of service from Grimes Manufacturing in Urbana. Mary Catherine was a member of the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and loved spending time with her family. As our hearts ache for the physical loss of her, we find solace knowing that she is now with God. She is at peace. And for that, we are grateful.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Pat) Ritchie; her grandchildren, Nanette (Jack) Butcher and John (Bobbie Jo) Ritchie; her great-grandchildren, Jack and Jared Butcher, Shelby (and her mother, Kerri), Christopher and Cole Ritchie; her sisters-in-law, Joyce McGuire, Jean Rutan and Nancy Bouton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews of several generations.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Ruth (Bodey) McGuire; her husband, James Lowell Tullis; her son, John Lowell Tullis; and her siblings, Donna Huffman, John, Richard and James McGuire.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018 in the SKILLMAN, McDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018 in the funeral home with Rev. Mimi Ault officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
