Archie Allen Hinton Obituary
Longtime Burlington resident, Archie Allen Hinton passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital. He was 85 years old.

He was born Aug. 30, 1928 to Avery and Oma (Knight) Hinton in Stockville, Neb. He was one of 14 children born to this union.

He enlisted in the United States Army on Jan. 23, 1951 and was honorably discharged on Oct. 25, 1962. He also received a Bronze Star for his service in the military.

He met and married Gracie Hinton on Jan. 14, 1978 in Burlington.

He was a member of the VFW Post in Burlington.

His hobbies were fishing, playing cards, watching football, sewing and quilting. He also loved playing with his grandkids and traveling.

He is preceded in death by his parents, stepson James L. Stone and eight siblings.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Gracie of Burlington, son Kenneth Hinton of Garden City, Kan., daughters; Peggy Daniher (Jim) of Garden City, Kan., Patricia Powell of Quinter, Kan., Nancy Langhausen (Terry) of Dallas, Texas, Shirley Hinton of Paris, Ark., stepson RL Stone of Burlington, stepdaughters; Rhonda Tomnitz of Burlington and Donna Holland of Burlington.

Also surviving Archie are three brothers; Frankie Hinton (Betty) and Francie Hinton (Marila) of Hollyrude, Kan., Marvin Hinton (Jennie) of Canon City and three sisters; Dorothy Taylor (Marvin) of Wyoming, Louise Cardova of Pueblo and Hazel Rucker of Lubbock, Texas.

Memorials may be made in Archie's name and may be left at or sent to the Frontier Bank, 107 S. 14th Street, P.O. Box 700, Burlington, CO 80807.

Funeral services for Archie were held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Love Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Viergutz officiating.

Burial followed in Claremont Cemetery, Stratton. Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Love Funeral Home, Burlington.
