Williams, Ferne Bristol  
Ferne Bristol Williams Age: 99 • Middlebury Ferne Bristol Williams, age 99, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at the Lodge at Otter Creek. Mrs. Williams was born in Middlebury on January 28, 1917. She was the daughter of Charles Leo and Olive (Shackett) Bristol. She grew up in Brandon where she received her early education and was graduated from Brandon High School, class of 1935. She earned her PhB degree from the University of Vermont, Class of 1939. Following her college graduation she moved to Boston where she worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company among others. On March 18, 1944, she married Arthur Charles Williams, of Garden City, NY, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Brandon. Mr. Williams predeceased her January 4, 1998. She enjoyed golf, gardening, opera, and ballet and was a nature and animal lover. She was an avid bridge player. She is survived by her 2 sons: Christopher Williams and his wife Diane Irene Williams of Acton, MA, and Jeffrey Williams of Atlanta, GA; 1 grandson, Aidan Nathanial Williams of Acton, MA; a niece, Linda Williams Spears of Houston, TX, and a nephew, Guy Williamson and his wife Amy of South Burlington, VT. The memorial service "In Celebration of Her Life" will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 4 PM, at the Residence at Otter Creek. A private graveside committal service and burial will precede the service, in the family lot at Pine Hill Cemetery. Following the ceremony the family will receive in the Founders Room, at The Residence, for a time of remembrance. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Wawrzyniak, Florian  
Florian Wawrzyniak Age: 76 • Northfield Florian Wawrzyniak, 76, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 24, 2016, at his camp in Isle LaMotte. He was born in Baltimore, MD, on January 6, 1940, the son of Lawrence & Anna (Dombrowska) Wawrzyniak. He attended Most Holy Rosary Elementary School and graduated from Mount St. Joseph High School, class of 1958, both of Baltimore, MD. In 1963, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Loyola University in Baltimore, MD and in 1966, a Master's of Arts degree in Economics from Boston College in Boston, MA. He married Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Todd at St. Ignatius Church in Hickory, MD, June 13, 1964. They have made their home in Northfield, VT since 1967. He had worked for the Federal Water Control as a consultant, was an Associate Professor at Norwich University in Northfield, VT for 7 years and a Professor of Economics at Vermont Technical College in Randolph, VT retiring from there after 34 years of service. Florian had a strong faith and believed in the Church as community. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Northfield. A charter member and Grand Knight of Council 11457 of the Knights of Columbus of Northfield. He also served at the state level of the Knights of Columbus as a State Deputy from 2009- 2011. He was a Eucharistic Minister, and taught classes in the Fashioning Faith Parish Education Program. He served as the Finance Committee Chair at St. John the Evangelist. Florian also served the community in other ways. He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader for Troop 759 of Northfield for ten years. He was a Red Cross Disaster Volunteer and Leader, having responded to the Hurricane Katrina disaster as well as disasters in Texas, Virginia and Vermont. Florian started recycling before recycling was available. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading and history. He and Kathy were privileged to have spent 10 days, in March 2015, in Jerusalem visiting the Holy Land. Survivors include his wife, Kathy, of Northfield; four children, John K. Wawrzyniak of Nashua, NH, Dr. Stephanie T. Wawrzyniak of Northfield, Chad M. Wawrzyniak & wife, Katie (Boyd), of Northfield, Angela M. Wawrzyniak of Columbus, OH; two sisters, Carol Ann (Leonard) Purwin, and Doris M. (Vernon) Velte, Jr., all of Baltimore, MD; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Samuel, Andrew, Ellie, Isabella, Joseph, Laura and Eric; and many nieces & nephews. Calling hours will be conducted Thursday, July 28th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Kingston Funeral Home, 35 Slate Ave., Northfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 29th at 11 am at St. John The Evangelist Church on Vine Street in Northfield. Donations may be made in his memory to CERV Northfield or EOHSJNE, 340 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01608 to support the elementary school in Bethlehem Israel.
