CARLTON ROGER BARNES

CARLTON ROGER BARNES - MONTGOMERY CENTER - Carlton Roger Barnes, 82, passed away Sunday evening, Jan. 5, 2014, in the Redstone Villa Nursing Home in St. Albans. Carlton was born Dec. 2, 1931, in Montgomery, the son of the late Clayton Barnes Sr. and Lona (Kennett) Barnes. Carlton was a lifelong resident of Montgomery Center where he worked on the family farm for many years. Along with farming, Carlton loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and cutting firewood. He was a member of the Lincoln Lodge F&AM #78 and had received his 50 year pin. He is survived by a sister, Audrey LaFlame and companion, Stuart Peck, of Enosburg Falls; two brothers, Clayton Barnes Jr. of Georgia, and Robert Barnes Sr. and companion, Myrna Flanagan, of Highgate; nieces and nephews, Maryellen Comtois and husband, Maurice, Jeffrey Barnes and wife, Jessica, Beverly Mayotte, Robert Barnes Jr. and wife, Cindy, Judy Picininni, and William Barnes and wife, Crystal; and many great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will be this spring in the Montgomery Center Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.
