CRAIG A. MOORBY

CRAIG A. MOORBY - NORTHFIELD - Craig Alan Moorby, 65, of Northfield, passed away peacefully at his home on March 17, 2013, with his loving family by his side. Craig was born May 5, 1947, in Middlebury. He attended Burlington schools and later served in the United States Army. Craig went on to become a home provider for two extraordinary men, Rick and Brian, both of whom were cared for and beloved for over 13 wonderful years. Both a jokester and adventurer, Craig enjoyed every minute of his life. Through various trials and tribulations, Craig persevered each hurdle with both a smile on his face and a sense of humor for each obstacle. After surviving a liver transplant in 1995, he then went on to battle nonHodgkin lymphoma in 2007. He was a kind, caring, and courageous man who lived every moment as if it were his last. Craig enjoyed the company of his son, Joshua, and was proud to see him successfully own and operate his own automechanic business in his own hometown. The two would often travel together, and share a bond like any other in Craig's life. At his latest stages, Craig declined hospice in favor of living his final days at home with his son, Josh, and his fiancee, Jennifer Seals, both of Northfield, as his caregivers. Along with lifelong friend, Ronald Goldsberry, also of Northfield, the three helped to light the darkest of Craig's days with loving kindness, laughs, and camaraderie. Craig is also survived by his other son, Cameron Moorby and his partner, Sarah Moos, of Montpelier; his daughter, Jamie Moorby; and his partner, Becky of Calais. He also leaves behind his brother, Ronnie Moorby and his wife, Dee, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two sisters, Bonnie Deforge and her husband, Gary, of South Burlington, and Debbie Titus and her husband, Doug, of Ferrisburg. Also surviving is Craig's sister-in-law, Pam Sauvageau of Northfield; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much. Craig was predeceased by his mother, Eleanor Moorby; his father, Arthur Moorby; and his brother, Doug Moorby. At Craig's request, no services will be held. However, dear friends and family will gather in celebration of his life at his home in Northfield, of which a date and time will later be announced.
