ELEANOR "ELLIE" WEST

ELEANOR "ELLIE" WEST - CHARLOTTE - Eleanor "Ellie" West was quite the addition to any gathering - often laughing and smiling with a glass of Chardonnay in hand. Above all, she loved her family. She also was quite fond of wildlife, the beach, dancing, Frank Sinatra, and her dog, Ginger. Ellie lived a fairy tale life of love for 56 years with Monroe "Doc" West in Newburgh, N.Y., until his early passing in 1997. At the age of 74, Ellie moved to Vermont, building a house just up the road from her daughter. Making great new friends, adopting a shelter dog, and embracing the rural lifestyle, "Ellie" lived independently until late last year. She leaves her brother, Paul Shaw; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and John Beal, and grandchildren, Sarah and Johnny Beal. While her family will greatly miss her, they find solace in knowing she is back with the love of her life, "Doc," laughing, dancing, and carrying on. "XOXO" A service to celebrate Ellie's life will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Union Church, 44 Balmville Road, Newburgh, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a in Ellie's memory.
