ELIZABETH LUCY (VICINO) GITTO - SOUTH BURLINGTON - Elizabeth Lucy (Vicino) Gitto, 83, of South Burlington, died on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in the Vermont Respite House in Williston. She was born in Washington, DC, on Nov. 29, 1930, the daughter of Antonio and Josephine (Foresta) Vicino. On Oct. 25, 1959, she was married in Washington to Stephen M. Gitto. Bette had worked for the federal government as a secretary in various government agencies in Washington, DC. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles. She is survived by her three children, Mark A. Gitto, Carla A. Randolph of Colchester, and Stephen M. Gitto Jr. and wife, Jodie, of Hinesburg; one granddaughter, Leigh A. Randolph of Louisianna; brother, Dominic Vicino of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen, on Sept. 16, 2012; and daughter, Stefanie, in 1962. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. in St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church in South Burlington. Burial will be at a later date in Washington, DC.
