EVERETT A. TATRO - WILLISTON - Everett A. Tatro, 76, died peacefully in Fletcher Allen Health Care on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, following a lingering illness. He was born in Burlington on April 3, 1936, the son of Harry and Melba (Ward) Tatro. He grew up in Williston and married Betty St. John on Aug. 7, 1956, in St. Stephen's Church, Winooski. Everett served in the Army and was a member of the National Guard for more than 20 years. He worked for F.R. Antone for many years and retired from the South Burlington Street Department where he was a heavy equipment operator. Everett was a volunteer fire fighter with the South Burlington Fire Departmant and the Williston Fire Department for several years. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Betty Tatro of Williston; his daughter, Sheryl Keesler and her husband, David, of Williston; his two sons, Thomas and Kirk Tatro, both of Williston; his brother, Sam Tatro of South Burlington; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and many close friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Melba Tatro; his son, Craig Tatro; and two brothers, Harry Tatro Jr. and George Tatro. Visiting hours are Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Corbin & Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Essex Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Williston. Burial will be in East Cemetery, Williston, in the spring.
