GERALD F. "JEB" SHARROW

GERALD F. "JEB" SHARROW - RICHFORD - Gerald F. "Jeb" Sharrow, 84, of Richford, died June 13, 2014, in Fletcher Allen Health Care after a short illness. He was born on Nov. 20, 1929, in Burlington, to Marie Kingsland and Leland Sharrow. Jeb was married to Joyce E. Morpeth on May 21, 1949. Shortly after marriage, they purchased a house and land in Malletts Bay and built a business, Colonial Cottages, where he and Joyce raised their three children, Jerry, Maureen and Kevin. In the years that followed, Jeb worked as a contractor and carpenter, he also owned a business with his brother, Brad, called Lusterock. He sold real estate in the Malletts Bay area. Jeb also owned a Skidoo franchise and Malletts Bay Marina. He enjoyed hunting water fowl and big game all over the world. He took culinary classes and enjoyed cooking. After selling Colonial Cottages, he retired in 2005 to Richford, where he and his wife, Joyce, enjoyed their mountain views in the custom home they built. Jeb was a wonderful dad, loving husband, entrepreneur and provider. We will miss him dearly. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Gerald "Jerry" Sharrow and wife, Joan, of New York; daughter, Maureen (Sharrow) Bates and partner, Harriet Boozer, and sons, John and Shawn Bates, of South Carolina; and son, Kevin and partner, Joseph Lawlor, of Florida. Jeb was predeceased by a son, Jody; grandson, Andy Sharrow; brothers, Bradley "Brad" and Donald "Don" Sharrow; and parents, Marie and Leland Sharrow. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, 455 North Ave., Burlington.
