JEAN M. SNIDE - RICHFORD - Jean M. Snide, age 52, passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 26, 2013, at her home with her loving family at her side. Jean's family wishes to thank the community for their thoughtfulness, exceptional care provided and generosity during Jean's illness, as well as the nurses and support staff at Franklin County Home Health Agency. She was born Dec. 25, 1960, in Newport, the daughter of the late Charles R. and Katherine (Wetherby) Bergeron. Jean grew up in Richford and was a 1978 graduate of Richford High School. She was a 1980 graduate of the Fanny Allen School of Nursing and was employed as a nurse for over 30 years. Jean married Chris Russell Snide on top of Mount Mansfield on July 5, 1982. She lived in Oregon for 10 years, and moved back to the family home in Richford in 2001, and was employed as a LPN for NOTCH Health Care. Jean had a passion for photography and created her own business, MaidenVT, where she specialized in Vermont scenic pictures, family portraits, senior class photos and weddings. Through the years she received many awards for her scenic photos including recognition from the St. Albans Messenger, and the Vermont State Parks used many of her photos. Jean is survived by her husband, Chris Snide of Corbett, Ore.; daughters and their husbands, Heather and Jason Fusco of Richford, and Dakota and Bradley Alexander of Sanford, Maine; son, Austin Snide of Troutdale, Ore.; grandchildren, Elijah and Benson Alexander, Maddox Fusco, and Knox Snide; brothers, Charles Bergeron Jr. of Richford, Robert Bergeron of Gresham, Ore., and John Bergeron and wife, Karen, of Chittenden; sister, Gloria Bergeron of Colchester; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth Snide. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, with the Rev. Karl Hahr officiating. The family will gather at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 323 Church St., Enosburg Falls, following the memorial service from 12 to 3:30 p.m. Private messages of condolence may be sent to Jean's family online through www.spearsfuneralhome.com.
