JOHN H. COFFEY

JOHN H. COFFEY - ESSEX JUNCTION - John H. Coffey Jr., 81, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington with his family by his side. John was born on May 22, 1931, in Colchester, the son of John H. and Francis (Pache) Coffey. He graduated from Essex Junction High School in 1949, he then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean Conflict. He married Marlene Robinson on Jan. 9, 1954; they just celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary. John worked for G.E. for 35 years, before retiring in 1987. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards with family and friends. John is survived by his wife, Marlene of Essex Junction; four daughters, Kathleen and husband, Bruce Pariseau, of Springfield, N.H., Janie and husband, M.J. Seiler, of Libertyville, Ill., Janet Coffey of Sinking Springs, Pa., and Karen and husband, Mike Greene, of Winooski; seven grandchildren, Chad, Jed, Nick, Will, John, Chris, and Amanda; five great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Stone of Essex Junction; many nieces and nephews; as well as many close friends. John was predeceased by his son, Michael in 1998; and brother, Peter Coffey in 2011. A celebration of John's life will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Corbin and Palmer Funeral Chapel, 9 Pleasant Street, Essex Junction. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Essex Rescue, 1 Educational Dr., Essex Junction, VT 05452.
