He was born in Channing, Mich., on Sept. 29, 1920, youngest son of George and Sarah (Miller) Boll. A graduate of the University of Michigan in mechanical engineering, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army during World War II, and then began his long career at Pratt & Whitney. He married Ida Mihay, his wife of 64 years, on Feb. 5, 1949, and after raising their family in Manchester, Conn., they retired to Weekapaug, R.I., where they spent their summers since 1954. Ken was an active and adventurous outdoorsman, enjoying tennis, sailing, skiing, camping, canoeing and hiking. A pioneer skier in the late 1940's, he was dedicated to the Mad River Glen, Vt., ski community for over 50 years. In Weekapaug, he was very active in the community and always eager to help others. Ken loved to play tennis in Weekapaug with his family and friends, and sail on the pond in the Beetle Cat. A devoted husband and father, he will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Ida; children, Tom and wife, Kathye, Patricia Tajirian and husband, Rick, Bill and wife, Ginger, and Jim and wife, Lauren; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and the Weekapaug community.
