NOEL C. BLOUIN - ENOSBURG FALLS - Noel C. Blouin, age 74, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at his home with his family at his side. Noel was born Dec. 25, 1939, in Richford. He was the fifth child of eight born to the late Wellington and Pauline (Leonard) Blouin. He graduated from Enosburg Falls High School, Class of 1958. After high school, Noel served in the U.S. Army for two years and upon his discharge returned home to work for Blouin Brothers Inc.; his father's oil distribution company. He married Annette Lavoie on Nov. 5, 1960, and they raised their family in Enosburg Falls. In his younger years, Noel enjoyed gardening, playing horseshoes, home improvement projects, his Harley motor cycle and antique vehicles. After retiring in 1996, Noel enjoyed taking trips, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and making maple cream and cookies; something he will always be remembered for. Noel was a longstanding member of the Enosburg Falls Lions Club; he received the Melvin Jones Fellowship award and looked forward to the June Dairy Day festival each year. Noel was very friendly and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Annette Blouin of Enosburg Falls; five children, Neil Blouin of Malone, N.Y., Nancy Blouin of Williston, Noreen Curtis and husband, David, of Bakersfield, Laura Thorburn and husband, David, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Michael Blouin and wife, Dianne, of Lagrange, Ga.; 12 grandchildren, Claudette, Thomas, Brett and Alex Blouin, Jamie Curtis and wife, Hollie, Joleen Curtis, Justene Curtis and fiance, Josh Trombly, Josalene and Justen Curtis, Curtis and Olivia Thorburn, and Jessica Howard and husband, Daniel; four great-grandchildren, Mica, Aden and James, and Seanna; three sisters, Louise Leach, Corine Ryan and husband, Jim, all of Enosburg Falls, and Mary Adams and husband, Frank, of Richford; sisters-in-law, Rochelle Blouin of Burlington, and Theresa Gross of Essex Junction; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Noel was predeceased by his brothers, Leonard, Paul and Thomas Blouin; sister, Rita Megrath; and brothers-in-law, Howard "Buzzy" Leach and Ronald Gross. Noel's family wishes to thank Dr. Karen Nepveu and staff for their wonderful care, concern and treatment of him over the past 10 years. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, with Pastor Timothy Stetson officiating.
