PAUL F. BOUDREAU - DAVENPORT, Fla. - Paul F. Boudreau, 71, of Davenport, Fla., and formerly of Essex Junction, Vt., passed away at his home with his family by his side on Dec. 2, 2013, after a long illness. Paul was born March 2, 1942, in St. Albans, to the late Hortense and Alcide Boudreau. He graduated from Bellows Free Academy in 1960, and then served in the Navy. In 1965, Paul began a career with IBM that spanned 37 years. He was a manufacturing manager at the time of his retirement in 2002. Throughout his life, Paul had a passion for cars, motorcycles, and all types of racing. He was able to share these interests with many special lifelong friends, among them his former classmate, Real "Frenchie" Coupal, who had been like a brother to him for over 50 years. Paul was known for his kind heart, beautiful smile and gentle spirit. He was truly a selfless man. He touched many lives, both personally and professionally, as a mentor and father figure. Paul battled many illnesses in his lifetime, but never complained or let it prevent him from taking care of his family. He had an unfaltering determination to overcome every obstacle he faced when it came to his health. His strength was one of his most admired traits. Paul is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan (Blair); two daughters and sons-in-law, Michele and Peter Glass of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Melissa and Jon Sylvia of St. Johnsbury; three grandsons, Nicholas, Cameron, and Jacob; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and June Boudreau of Morrisville; many nieces and nephews; and sister and brothers-in-law. A special thank you to his sister-in-law, Sandra Bryce who lovingly and tirelessly helped Sue and his daughters with Paul's care so that he was able to spend his final months at home. A service for Paul will be held at LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St., Winooski, on Dec. 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. to pay condolences to the family.
