RICHARD "RED" MUIR

RICHARD "RED" MUIR - ST. GEORGE - Richard "Red" Muir, 77, a longtime resident of St. George, died peacefully at home surrounded by loving family on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, and went Home to be with his Savior. Richard was born in Winooski on May 4, 1935, the son of David Edmund Muir and Yvonne (LeClair) Muir, and was educated in Winooski. He was married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Burlington on July 26, 1975, to Linda Lee (Perrotte) Muir. Richard served his country for the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He will receive military honors at his burial in the spring at the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph. Red was proudly employed for 30 years at General Electric, and for 12 years as custodian at Westford Elementary School. He loved life, greeting and helping people, children, family and friends. Red is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda; sister, Barbara Bergevin; brothers, Robert Muir, and Bradley Muir and wife, Kathy; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his brother, David Muir. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St. in Winooski. Funeral services celebrating Red's life will be held on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Living Hope Christian Church in Williston.
