ROBERT G. HEGEMAN - COLCHESTER - Robert "Bob" G. Hegeman, age 67, husband of Dunja Hegeman of Colchester, died on Saturday, June 30, 2012, in Redstone Villa Nursing Home, St. Albans, following a long illness. He was born in South Amboy, N.J., the son of the late Rutledge G. Hegeman and Doris E. (Zahn). Bob was a graduate of Sayreville War Memorial High School, class of 1963. Bob owned and operated Hegeman Electric for 35 years. He also taught for 20 years at the electrician program at Essex Technical Center, while operating his company. He was an avid sailor cruising Lake Champlain, the Caribbean, Bahamas, Eastern Seaboard and the Adriatic. Additionally, he was a skier, a scuba diver and an accomplished runner, having participated in numerous road races and marathons. Bob always shared his interests by involving his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by four children, Alizee, Daniel, Robert and Nicole. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Oliver, Eloise and Auryn; two sisters, Patricia Brizek and Christine Wheatley-Hegemanl; a brother, Timothy Hegeman; and many relatives and friends. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Frank Mankel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Ready Funeral Home Mountain View Chapel, with the service starting at 5:45 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of The Ready funeral and Cremation Service, Mountain View Chapel, 68 Pinecrest Dr., in Essex Junction.
