RUTH L. ISHAM PILLSBURY -- ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - Ruth L. Isham Pillsbury, born in South Burlington on March, 18, 1914, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, in the Hartland Nursing Home in Zephyrhills, Fla. She was 98 years old. A lifetime teacher and homemaker, she graduated from the University of Vermont in 1936, and then taught school in Benson for two years. In 1938, she and Kenneth Pillsbury married and moved to Enosburg Falls. Kenneth managed the Eastern States Coop/ Agway grain store. In 1946, they purchased an old parsonage of the church at Enosburg Center, using hard work and craftsmanship to make it into a wonderfully cozy and plentiful homestead. She taught at the Enosburg Center oneroom school (grades 1 - 6), at West Berkshire, and then at Enosburg Falls (Jr. High). Ruth and Kenneth were married for 63 years. He predeceased her in 2001. She is survived by three sons; a sister; and several grand/great-grandchildren, David and Marylyn; Mark, two sons, Mike and Mary with daughters, Tiffany and Brittany, and Guy; and Seth and Annette, two daughters, Seta with son, Joshua, and Maritza and Bryan, with children, Nathaniel and Elena. Ruth's sisters, Ester and Ellen predeceased her. Her third sister, Orpah lives in Jacksonville, Fla. There are to be no services.
