SHAWN TIMOTHY GIRVAN - BURLINGTON - Shawn Timothy Girvan, 37, of Burlington, died suddenly with his parents by his side on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, in Fletcher Allen Health Care. Shawn was born in Burlington on Feb. 17, 1974, the beloved son of Stanley and Virginia (Baker) Girvan. He was a graduate of Burlington High School, Class of 1995. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Shawn loved planes and animals, especially his dog, Sam. He is survived by his parents of Burlington; two brothers, Steven A. of Milton, and Michael A. of Appleton, Wis.; one nephew, Alex; three nieces, Miranda, Vanessa, and Katie; an aunt, Eleanor Jones; and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Christopher Stanley Girvan in 1973. Shawn's family would like to give special thanks and love to all of his caregivers who have assisted them over the years. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Ready Funeral Home, North Chapel, 934 North Ave. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, 81 St. Paul St., with interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
