THERESA ALMA MAE GAUTHIER - ESSEX JUNCTION - Theresa Alma Mae Gauthier, 81, of Essex Junction, died on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in Fletcher Allen Health Care surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Burlington on Nov. 17, 1931, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Mary (Provost) Turcotte. She married Leo Gauthier, the love of her life, in 1949. Together they owned and operated Leo's Dine and Dance from 1958 to 1968. They started Gauthier's Trucking in 1950, which remains a well-respected family business to this day. While helping to run and maintain two businesses, Theresa and Leo had six beautiful children. Theresa was dedicated to her husband and family, cherishing holidays and celebrations. She enjoyed her weekly card games and gambling in casinos with her sisters and friends. She also bowled for years on several different leagues. She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful smile and laughter. She was, at all times in her life, always surrounded by family. Theresa is survived by her six children, Dianne McLaughlin of Franklin, Bruce Gauthier and Sharron Boozan of Colchester, Judy McLaughlin and Ronald of Milton, Kevin Gauthier and Sandi of Colchester, Jane Gauthier and Herb Devino of Milton, and Andrew Gauthier and Michelle of Westford; grandchildren, Seth McLaughlin, Laura McLaughlin and Ed LaDue, Shawn McLaughlin and Rex Lott, April Bean and Michael, Ronald and Renee McLaughlin, Kristy McLaughlin, Jeremy and Lynda Gauthier, Angelique Devino and Mark Laurel, Leo and Mary Gauthier, and Gary, James, and Tasha Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Ryder, Ajanae, Jimmy, Hunter, Ryan, James, Elliot, Joshua, Lukas, and Gary III; sisters, Pauline Laframboise, Betty Shappy and John, Gerry Hathaway and Larry, Madeline Shappy and Emerald, and June Provost; and several nieces and nephews. Theresa was predeceased by her sister, Bernice Dubuque; son-in-law, Larry McLaughlin; and husband, Leo Gauthier. Theresa's family extends a very special thanks to her caregivers, Renee, Nichole, Deana, and Donna for the wonderful care given to her during her illness. Visiting hours will be held today from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Ready Funeral and Cremation Service Mountain View Chapel, 68 Pinecrest Dr., Essex Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Essex Junction, with burial to follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
