THERESA G. AUNCHMAN BURLINGTON - Theresa G. Aunchman, 84, went to the loving arms of our Lord on Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, in the Vermont Respite House with her loving family by her side. She was born in Burlington on Oct. 27, 1924, the daughter of Edward and Sophia (Vasseur) Dumas. She was married on Jan. 8, 1946, to Lawrence Aunchman who predeceased her on June 12, 2003. Theresa was a devoted Catholic and her faith was very important in her life. She was the youngest of 15 children and the time spent with her family were the most important times of her life. She was employed in the Princess Dress Shop on Church Street and was self employed for many years creating nursing caps for the Mary Fletcher and Fanny Allen Schools of Nursing. The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the Vermont Respite House and Home Instead Senior Care for all of their support and encouragement during mother's final journey home. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Clapper and her husband David of Burlington, Laurie Aunchman and her husband Scott Danzig of Richmond, Lisa Aunchman-Johnston and her husband Bill of Underhill; grandchildren, David Clapper, Paul Danzig, Sarah, Elizabeth and Jake Johnston; her sister Doris Miller of Rensselear, N.Y.; brother-in-law Walter Aunchman of Punta Gorda, Fla.; special friends and caregivers, Bonnie Smith, Kim Fletcher and Abby; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Adeline Fleury, Harriet Bora, Peter Dumas, Clarence Dumas, Huban Dumas, Mary VanderPool, Marjorie Bergeron, Leon (Clifford) Dumas, Uldrich (Pete) Dumas, Beatrice Monty, Elsie Provost, Phyllis Kingsley and Yvonne Bora. A prayer service will be held on Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Ready Funeral & Cremation Services, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington, with burial to follow in New Mount Calvary Cemetery.
