VIRGINIA MADELYN (PATNODE) FORGAYS

VIRGINIA MADELYN (PATNODE) FORGAYS - ESSEX CENTER - Virginia Madelyn Forgays, 90, of Essex Center, passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 13, 2014. She was born on Feb. 2, 1924, in Burlington, the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Langlois) Patnode. On July 10, 1943, she married Clifford Forgays at St. Amadeus Church in Alburg. After 57 years of marriage, Cliff predeceased Ginna on Aug, 3, 2000. Ginna and Cliff lived most of their married life in Essex Center while raising four children and were foster parents to many children for over 30 years. She is survived by her three children, Lanny Forgays and wife, Gail, Debora Batchelor, and Sandra Welcome and husband, Carl; and by her son-in-law, John Giroux. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Shane (Patricia) Forgays, Patrick (Liza) Giroux, Brian (Kelly) Giroux, Michele (Tony) Archovitch, Denise (Russ) Groll, Dustin (Jen) Batchelor, Eric (Carrie) Welcome, and Sarah (Chris) Giovannitti; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; her sisters, Winifred LeBlanc, Greta Barcomb, Averal Audet; and sister-in-law, Alma Patnode. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sherry Giroux in 2012; and her brother, Winton At her request, a private graveside service for immediate family will be celebrated in Mountain View Cemetery in Essex Center.
