William J. Marihugh

WILLIAM J. MARIHUGH BURLINGTON - William J. Marihugh, 57, of Burlington, died peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Troy, N.Y. on Sept. 30, 1951, the son of James H. Jr. and Barbara (Dugan) Marihugh and the grandson of the late James H. and Eleanor Marihugh and Arthur F. and Sarah C. Dugan. William resided in Mechanicville, N.Y. with his parents, later moving to Baltimore, Md., Orlando, Fla., Rockville, Md., and to Burlington in 1966. While in Baltimore he became a devoted Orioles fan, so much so, his friends through the years called him Baltimore Bill as well as Buster. Bill graduated from Burlington High School in 1972. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed attending Burlington High School basketball games. He also enjoyed listening to the Detroit Concert Band playing John Phillips Sousa marches. In addition to his parents, Bill is survived by his sister Suzanne H. Marihugh of Burlington; several aunts and uncles, including Christine and John Harris of Tyrone, Pa., Victor Dugan of Katy, Texas, Susan P. Dugan of Stillwater, N.Y., Susan M. Dugan of Albuquerque, N.M., Carolyn Stewart of Cupertino, Calif., Lucia Ryan of Albany, N.Y., and David and Anne Marihugh of Denville, N.J. He is also survived by 23 first cousins and a longtime friend, Sheila Greene LaFeniere of Bellefontaine, Ohio. Bill made many friends in the communities where he lived. In addition to his grandparents, he was predeceased by several aunts and uncles, including Sarah Flynn, Robert A. Dugan, Marlene and Wilbur Trieble, Henry Delaney, Edwin H. Stewart and Thomas E. Ryan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 14, at 11 a.m. in St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church with interment to follow in New Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
