GARY ST. LOUIS Obituary

GARY D. ST. LOUIS COLCHESTER -– Gary D. St. Louis, 60, husband and soulmate of MaryEllen, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 9, 2009, with MaryEllen and daughter Erin by his side. He was born in Burlington, Vt. on May 6, 1949, the son of the late Eugene and Rita (Hammond) St. Louis. He was a graduate of Rice High School the class of 1967. On Oct. 10, 1970, he married MaryEllen Barewicz. Gary was proud to have enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He devoted 28 years to the Burlington Town Center retiring in 2005 as Chief Engineer. Gary is survived by his wife MaryEllen St. Louis of Colchester; his daughter Erin Chicoine and her husband Mark of Jericho; two grandchildren, Evan and Mallory Chicoine; his brothers, Jack (Diana) St. Louis, Ron (Kathy) St. Louis, Jeff (Lynn) St. Louis; sisters-inlaw, Sandra St. Louis and Maris Rock; MaryEllen's family, Denise Barewicz, Donna (Lee) Alberry, Bernadette (James) Reuschel, JoAnn (Bob) Alberry, Ed (Dorothy) Barewicz, John (Charlotte) Barewicz, Katie (Gary) Bergeron, Peter (Allison) Barewicz, Teri (Dean) Klopfenstein; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Eugene and Michael St. Louis; his brother-in-law Ben Barewicz; and his father and mother-in-law, Mary and Bernard Barewicz. Gary cherished the close relationship that always existed with Erin and Mark. Words cannot describe the bond that existed between Gary and his grandson Evan. To see them together brought a smile to your face. He will be PaPa to Evan and Mallory always. He looked forward to deer camp, fishing, St. Pete's Beach and the dog tracks. A special thank you to Dr. Mark Pitcher, Dr. Renee Stapleton, Betsy Lyons, VNA Hospice and the staff at Rite Aid Pharmacy in Colchester. Gary and MaryEllen would like to dearly thank family and friends who have shared our special time "on the porch" over the past month. It was complete joy for Gary to share your love and laughter each day. Terry and I moved with Shonna and Brennan from Vermont down to North Carolina, but I remember your friendship with activities for the girls, particularly at Stunt Night at Rice.
Please accept our thoughts, and I am ever so glad that Shonna made it up to Vermont to be with you. Shonna kept me up with how things had been going, as Erin text's her often.
We are so sorry.
