Dear Nancy and Family,
I was very sorry to read of your loss of your remarkable one-of-a-kind father.
After finishing my training at UVM in 1980, I got to know him when I started my practice in Vergennes. Nobody who has ever been on the Porter medical staff with Dr Ray Collins forgets him! He was the quintessential Vermont doctor with his own twist, who will be missed by many.
Most sincerely,
Ruth Kennedy Grant, MD

I wish I had known Doc Collins had, at one time, lived in Waterbury CT, as for many years I worked in Porters billing department which was down the hall from his office and never knew his wife was also from Waterbury, my home town.. I am happy to have known him,

I remember visiting Doctor Collins's farm in Colchester as a child. He and my father would talk cows for hours! He was so proud of his herd. He also set my arm when I broke it. Good doctor and good man. Will be missed by many.

The town and the South Street neighborhood has lost a treasure. Although we have only known Ray (and Elizabeth) since 2001, we treasure the memories of having a genuine character for a next door neighbor. I posted Ray's passing on Facebook and there has been a great exchange of memories and anecdotes. . Ray was the only person to call me "Jeannette". May he fly away and be free.

Betsy, Louise and Nancy,
You are in our thoughts and prayers as we fondly remember your father and our friend. It was a real pleasure getting to know Doc over the years and we will always treasure our friendship and time spent together. He is now with the man upstairs and putting a good word in for our beloved Red Sox. Love, Chuck, Kim & Kaitlyn Sharp

It was very sad to read about Dr. Collin's passing. In years past he operated on one of my brothers who had a ski accident and saved his life.
My thoughts are with his family and especially Nancy who was a classmate of mine.
Godspeed to Doc Collins.
