COLIN C. SHEEHAN - RICHFORD - Colin C. Sheehan, 65, of Richford, passed away at his home on Sept. 2, 2012, with his family present. He was born Aug. 16, 1947, in Barton, to the late John Sr. and Anabelle (Noyes) Sheehan. Colin attended schools in Sutton, and Lyndon Institute in Lyndon. In 1966, SSG Sheehan entered the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. In 1990, he served with the 131st Engineers in Desert Storm. He earned many medals and certificates throughout his 42 years of military service with the VTANG out of Camp Johnson. Colin retired from the 131st Engineers in 2003. He leaves behind many comrades and friends. Colin is survived by his wife and best friend, Valerie (Shattuck) Sheehan of Richford, whom he married on May 4, 1995; his children, Kelly and Brian Giroux of Essex, Shannon and Dave Bessery of Burlington, Pierre and Charlene Letourneau of Irasburg, Ronnie Letourneau of Berkshire, Travis Letourneau and Sara Gelo of Richford, and Jessica Sheehan and Harold Morse of Derby; grandchildren, Mariah, Pierre Jr., Carly, Brooklynn, Natalie, and Joey; step-grandchildren, Ashley, Brandi, Jacob, Caleb, and Christian; a very special family whom his wife and he regarded as part of their family, Jason, Judy, Jordan, Jared and Jayce Bryce; a close friend, Danny Murray Sr.; brother and sister-in-laws, Edward and Linda Shattuck, and John and Penny Queenin; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews; and his faithful companions, Daisy Mae and Lucky, and his grandpuppies, Clara, Dora, Annabelle, Jackie and Tinkerbelle. Besides his parents, Colin was predeceased by his former wife, JoAnn (Barry) Sheehan; and his brother, John Sheehan Jr. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, from 5 p.m. until the hour of the funeral, at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls. Interment will be held Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at 3 p.m. in the Fort Ethan Allen Cemetery, Rt. 15, Colchester. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Colin's memory may be made to Franklin County Home Health Agency - Hospice Program, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478, or to the Franklin County Humane Society, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans, VT 05478.
