DAVID RAYMOND DILLOWAY - BURLINGTON - David Raymond Dilloway, 78, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Nov. 7, 2013, following a brief illness. Born April 24, 1935, Dave was the eldest son of the late Raymond H. Dilloway and Lena (Welcome) Dilloway. During high school, Dave took interest in marksmanship and went onto win numerous tournaments and championships. He graduated in 1954, and carried on his passion throughout his life. After high school, Dave joined the United States Air Force and served in Korea, and later retired from the Vermont Air National Guard with over 20 years of service. Dave began his banking career at the Burlington Savings Bank in 1957, and later retired from Vermont Federal Bank in 1991 after 31 years. Dave and his wife, Dolores, joined the North Avenue Alliance Church in Burlington in 1960, and have remained active members for over 50 years. Dave is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dolores (Payne) Dilloway; two daughters, Lisa Jaques and son-in-law, Brian Jaques, of Burlington, and Julie Devenow of Burlington; one brother, Michael Dilloway and wife, JoAnn, of Manheim, Pa.; five grandchildren, Christine Jaques of Burlington, and Stephanie Jaques of Bristol, R.I., and Amber, Colton and Dalton Devenow of Burlington; and four nieces. David was predeceased by his parents; brother, James and wife, Louise. There will be no visiting hours, but a celebration of life will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the North Avenue Alliance Church in Burlington.
