DONALD C. FRANCIS - HINESBURG - Donald C. Francis passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013, in Birchwood Terrace, in Burlington, after a long illness. Donald was born May 23, 1925, to Solomon and Mary Hoose Francis in Charlotte. He was married to Helen Fisk on Sept. 14, 1946, and was a WWII decorated Navy Coxswain V-6. Don was a well known stone and brick mason in the area. He was employed by the Shelburne Museum and aided in bringing the Lighthouse and the Ticonderoga Steamboat to the site. He is survived by his wife, Helen; their children, Sharron Flanigan of Hinesburg, Connie (Skyler) Stratton of Florida and Maine, Donna (Frank) Burroughs of Winooski, Terry (Bonnie) Francis of Eden Mills, David Francis of Hinesburg, Leona (Eric) Ross of Oregon, Dede (Don) Folts of Calais, and Donald (Deborah) Francis of Williston; 21 grandchildren; 30 greatgrandchildren; one great-great-grandson; several step-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard of Willsboro, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Henry, Howard, Robert, Clifford, Clayton, Harriet Downs and Dorothy Hurlburt. The family would like to thank Birchwood Terrace for their wonderful care of our loved one. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at 4 p.m. at the Gifford Funeral Chapel, 22 Depot St., Richmond. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the
