DUANE C. WOOD - MILTON - Duane C. Wood, 84, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Duane Carroll Wood, son of Arthur E. Wood and Iva L. (Russ) Wood was born on May 4, 1929 in Royalton. He was always busy with projects around his home, and helping his neighbors. Duane married Mildred A. Turner in Bethel, on Oct. 26, 1957, and on March 28, 1991. Duane is survived by his spouse, Mildred; and by his son, Scott Wood and his wife, Debbie and their sons, Jesse, James, John, Josiah, Jeremiah, and Jacob and his wife, Lily and their daughter, Elizabeth; and by his son, Kevin Wood and his wife, Heidi, and their sons, Kevin and Sherman, and their daughter, Tasha. His daughter, Pamela, died Jan. 8, 2011, leaving her spouse, Bruce Prim and their daughters, Susan, Angela, Misty, Kerry, and Tanya, and their children. Also surviving are his sisters, Marion Button and Rita Turner; and sister-in-law, Barbara Wood; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Newell Wood. Duane attended South Royalton High School, graduated from the Beehler School of Watchmaking at Chebeague Island, Maine, on Aug. 20, 1948. After graduation, he worked at Goodfellows Jewelry store in Barre for 17 years, Lippa's Jewelry store in Burlington for 10 years and then worked for IBM in Essex for 27 years. Visiting hours will be this evening from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Essex, with burial following at 2 p.m. in the family lot in the Branch View Cemetery in South Royalton.
