Obituary Condolences

EDMOND PATRICK WALSH - THE VILLAGES, Fla. - Edmond Patrick Walsh, 70, of The Villages, Fla., and formerly of Essex Junction, Vt., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Ed was born in Berlin, N.H., on Jan. 29, 1943, and graduated from Berlin High School in 1960. He was married to Louise Durant on July 1, 1961; they were married for nearly 52 years. Ed worked as a Senior Manufacturing Superintendent at IBM and retired with 30 years of service. After retiring from IBM, he served 5 1/2 years as Vice President of Manufacturing for International Microcircuits Inc., in Silicon Valley, Calif. He also completed a one year assignment as Vice President and General Manager at CS2 in Zaventem, Belgium. Ed served as a volunteer advisor for SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), Chapter 414, since 2002, and was the President of the IBM Retirees Club in The Villages, Fla., for the past eight years. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout and was a member of the National Eagle Scout Association. His passion for business continued after moving to El Santiago, where family and friends knew him as an informal salesman/ ambassador for The Villages. Ed is survived by his wife, Louise of The Villages, Fla.; daughter, Debby Rothenberger of Littleton, N.H.; daughter, Kim and husband, Greg Cushman, of South Paris, Maine; son, Steve and wife, Sheila Walsh, of Springboro, Ohio; son, Jon and wife, Linda Walsh, of Essex Junction, Vt.; seven grandchildren, Kelli Rothenberger, Amy Frye, Tim Rothenberger, Shaun Walsh, Caity Walsh, Kayla Cushman and Jordan Walsh. Ed was emphatically proud of all of his grandchildren and showed his support by being their biggest cheerleader in all aspects of their lives. He is also survived by his father, Patrick Walsh and Helen of Wethersfield, Conn.; sister, Kathy and husband, Ed Lescoe, of Farmington, Conn.; sister, Patricia Michalski of Rocky Hill, Conn.; sister, Maureen Klapatch of Wethersfield, Conn.; sister, Agnes and husband, Gilbert Reynolds, of Wethersfield, Conn.; and brother, Michael and wife, Janice, of East Hartford, Conn. The family would like to especially acknowledge the exceptional love and support of fellow Villagers, Roland and Lorraine Morin, and Fred Denno. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013, at Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, Fla.
