ELLEN BURDO BARTLETT BURLINGTON - Ellen Burdo Bartlett, 89, of Burlington, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at her home. She was born in Colchester on May 9, 1920, the daughter of the late Alfred and Amanda (Fountain) Dumas. Ellen enjoyed cooking, traveling to California and spending time with her family, especially her sister Dot. She was a member of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. She is survived by her children, Nancy Canavan and her husband James of Holden, Mass., Robert and Valarie Burdo of Burlington, Wayne Burdo of South Burlington, Susan Powell and her husband Tom of Washington and Steven Burdo of Anaheim Hills, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Rabideau of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews of which include a special niece and godchild, Debra Duhamel of Lisbon Falls, Maine. Ellen was predeceased by her husband Francis L. Burdo in 1984; her daughter Marlene Downing in 2009; and by six sisters and one brother. Her family would like to express a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of the VNA-Hospice of the Champlain Valley for all their care and support during Ellen's illness. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at 10 a.m. in the Ready Funeral Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to
